Remote Coaching: Filling the CPD Gap

Last week we posted an interview with Assistant Head Teacher, Lisa Middleton, as part of an on-going look at the remote coaching programme taking place at Oak Hill Academy.

We interviewed some of the staff to discover their expectations for using IRIS Connect’s lesson observation technology as a key part of the schools collaboration with remote coaching expert, Mike Fleetham.

This week’s interview is with Year 3 Teacher Nick Clifton – IRIS Connect novice and teacher for 5 years.

"I’ve not used IRIS Connect yet, but I’m looking forward to it. I feel quite fortunate because I caught the last wave of local government support so I’ve been on some amazing courses that have had a direct impact on what I do in the classroom. Where that has been withdrawn slightly of late it’s difficult to find the time to spend with other people, to make relationships and have that kind of communication. I think IRIS Connect and the remote coaching programme will bring that all back in again, put us in touch with people, and sharing ideas and good practice. Hopefully it’ll be really beneficial."
